Success is strongly influenced by the attitudes of your friends and family. Assuming the attitudes are negative or less than supportive of your goals this can be especially difficult.
I have no doubt that I would be serving time right now if I hadn’t made the choice to distance myself from some of my old friends. As a matter of fact several of them are actually serving time right now. And still others are more messed up than I care to discuss.
I don’t know who coined the phrase, but Dan Kennedy is known for saying “You are the average of your 5 closest friends”
I’ve been known to point out this phrase before because I think it is one of the chief determinants in the progress of my success!
Stop reading for just a moment and just think about who your 5 closest friends are…

It’s important to surround yourself with great role models.
I still have a lot of love for both my family and many of my old friends but the truth is it will be hard to achieve the success you seek if you are surrounded with people who could care less if there life sees any progress.
Make a point to surround yourself with people whose success you want for yourself, it’s only a matter of time before you will assimilate to the habits of your successful friends.
