If you are like me you enjoy helping others succeed.

Something about it can make you feel warm and fuzzy.

But where do you draw the line?

I look at it like this…

The Law of Reciprocity states that the more you give the more you get. So we should all be happy to help as much as possible. The place we need to “draw the line in the sand” is when “certain people” begin to abuse the time we give them by wasting it with negativity, pessimism, being cynical or keeping us from performing work that we enjoy and that helps provide for our family and ourselves.

If you are having a problem with a pessimistic or energy draining person the best way to stop it is to avoid them when you feel your energy being drained and instead fill your time with positive and motivating activities.

Your time has value…

…more value than money

…more value than “nice things”

Make an investment in your time that you can enjoy.

It’s the one thing you can never get back.
